too much TV?

So at lunch time yesterday we all went for a little walk to the mail box. Well, Carter always wants mail, so usually Mat will give him some of the junk mail and that satisfies him. So, yesterday Mat handed him a piece of junk mail and Carter looked at it and said, "You can save money with Geico". Now, the kid doesn't read, but it's obvious that he does watch a lot of TV. We laughed pretty hard and then I felt a little guilty. TV, the built in babysitter.

This is what was on the envelope....maybe Carter is just a genius and really can read. :)

Valentine cards

Carter was very excited to get valentines in the mail this year and wouldn't let us read them to him until he had read them himself. Well, of course he doesn't read just yet, so it was pretty humorous to hear what he would come up with. He did this with every valentine that he got....I just happened to be near paper for this one and so I wrote it down.

"Dear Carter, I really love you. You can come visit me for a week. And also Carter, you are my best friend. From your Grandma and Grandpa on a mission".

Berklie made herself a cozy little bed. She stayed in there for a long time, just cuddled under the TV while I made dinner.

Shhhh...don't tell Daddy

Wallets are this girls favorite thing! So, watch out. She's also grown a little taller and can reach and see inside the drawer where Mat keeps his. He would not have been laughing like I was when I found her with her loot. As she's emptying the contents of his wallet, she is saying, "money". Funny little girl.

Blurb.com..it's back!!!

Thanks to Mylee, I found out that blurb can support blogger again, which means...we can all do our blog books now. I'm sure you were all dying to know that! LOL. I'm super excited about it! Thanks Mylee!!! WAHOO!

We've just released our newest version of BookSmart™, and while you'll see improved performance overall, the most exciting news is that our blog slurpers are back up and running. Now you can slurp your entire blog and make it into a Blurb book in just a few short steps. Download the latest BookSmart release to get started. If you use LiveJournal, WordPress, TypePad or Blogger, simply select your book size (support for 5x8 B/W Text book coming in next release), select "blog to book," choose your blogging platform and slurp away! Wondering how hundreds of pages of blog fodder might be translated into a book? Check out Mike Workman's "Wisdom, Wisecracks & Weener Dogs" (pictured above) to see how great a blog can look in print. And while there are other sites I've found in the meantime that print blog books, one of my favorite things about Blurb's version is that it will index your hyperlinks. So your time isn't wasted hyperlinking and you have an index of sites you were interested in when you're 60. Don't know what the heck I'm talking about? Look HERE!

"Treasure Box"

Carter got to bring home the "treasure box" last week from preschool. He loves it and always talks about what he'll put in the box to show his class. He decided this time to put a doll, a helicopter and suckers to share with everyone. I get why he wanted to take the helicopter, but why the doll I asked? He said, "the girls like dolls mom". Cute kid, always thinking of others.

Happy Birthday Matty!!

Happy Birthday! Mat turned 29 yesterday...he's so old. Haha. Carter had been planning his birthday for months, really and truly. He thought that Mat should have a pinata, party hats, party horns and friends "my size". I don't know if the party was all that Carter thought it should be, but we all had fun. We did have party hats and horns, no pinata or friends for Carter to play with. Mat wanted an ice cream cake from Cold Stone, so that's what he got, along with a steak dinner! Yummy. I'm so grateful for such a good husband and a great father! We love you Matty!!

Mat helping Carter play Guitar Hero..this was Mat's birthday present! He's totally going to go pro now. :)
