The Kiddies

Sweet babes is 4 months! She is 15 lbs. 12 oz. and 26.5 inches long. We have tried rice cereal, but she's not quite ready for it yet. She loves to watch us eat though, so it won't be too much longer! She is getting so big so fast! Watch out for Berklie! In case you can't tell, in one hand she has a baby and in the other she has Carters play gun. Perfect. Does that mean she'll be a protective mom? I was cooking dinner and looked down to find a small lump in my kitchen rug. Berklie was "hiding". We had a really hard time finding her. Yesterday we got our first snow of the year! The kids were so excited and couldn't wait until dinner was over to go play. (hence Berklie's bib) Last year Berklie didn't like the snow, this year she can't seem to get enough of it. We got a few inches last night and the kids played in it for about an hour.
Catching snowflakes in their mouths.

Bundled up and ready to play.

I wish my camera took better photos at night. The kids were all over the yard, but the camera only worked on the patio with the lights. They were cracking me up. The simple pleasures of life.
Here is Carter reciting his part for the annual primary program at church. He was so proud that he had it memorized! When it came down to doing it at church, he got some help. After the program he told me that he would do it by himself next year. He's such a big boy! It was so much fun helping him memorize it. (this was his part: "The Family: A Proclamation to The World, teaches the importance of marriage.")

oh and....

This is just cracking me up. Carter says this all day long now, "I'm 5 and 5 year olds can do that you know." Or, "I'm 5 now mom, I can pour my own milk." Whatever it is, he's 5 now and he can do it so much better than he could when he was only 4. After he got in trouble for missing the toilet a little bit (because he was standing up.....I make him sit down...i know, mean mom) he said to me, "But mom, am I still 5?" Too funny. He loves being 5!

Happy Birthday Carter!!

Happy 5th Birthday Carter boy! I really can't believe that my baby is 5! There isn't much that he doesn't get excited about and it really is fun to watch him get excited over the smallest and simplest things. So since Carters favorite thing is FRIENDS...we had plenty of them over for his birthday party. I'll be honest, it was CRAZY. That might be an understatement. But, to see his excitement was worth it all. His friends came over for a "Super Hero Training Camp" party. We started out with an obstacle course and then a web game and a little game of Kryptonite Toss. I don't have pictures of the first two because my photographer wasn't there yet. (LOL, thanks Mylee!!) Then it was on to cake. 2 seconds later presents, and really 2 minutes later the presents were opened and the chaos started again! ha ha ha.
Addy, Carter, Cade, Brigham and Malichi all waiting for the cake!Kyler, Ashlee, Brandon, Devin and Tyler. (left to right) Turbo round of present opening!

Carter talked about his birthday party for a whole year before it happened, and he always said that it would have party horns and a pinata!

After the party, Luke and Bentley came to celebrate with Carter! They had a blast bouncing on a little bounce house a friend let us use and eating candy and cake.

Candy Coma The next day was Carters actual birthday, so first thing in the morning he wanted to open the presents that his mom and dad and grandparents got for him. Of course Berklie had to help.

Carter reading the card from Grammie and Boppa. Because Berklie wanted to rip open all of his gifts, he had to sit on them so she couldn't.
Grandma and Grandpa Bell sent Carter a girt as well, which he couldn't wait to read and wear at bedtime that night!

I'm so grateful for Carter. He is such a social little boy, he loves people and loves to meet new people and make new friends. He is a joy to have around. He usually loves to help me with Oaklie, and he's so sweet with her. He and Berklie are best pals. Carter also gives the best hugs when you need them. I love to watch his excitement for life and learning. He is growing up so fast!! Happy Birthday Carter boy!

The Great Pumpkin Hunt.

We went to the Pumpkin patch again this year and had a blast! The kids love that they can pick their own pumpkins and ride in the tractor! Berklie is saying, "This is my pumpkin!" "Mine!"Even babes got in on the action and found herself a small pumpkin. She was excited!

No comment. ;)

Carter insisted on carrying his own......
it's getting heavier.....

"Ok mom, you take it, it's too heavy."
and a scary pumpkin hunter.

I just found these on my camera. Mat must have taken them. Too funny.

Fun fun fun

I thought I would post a few pictures of the recent goings on here. Little Miss "I do it" is helping pop her popcorn by singing to it. "pop pop pop pop" (imagine it in her cute little voice) The closer the better, I guess.Sleeping Beauty. You can't tell from the picture, but she is asleep on the floor in front of the fire. Her daddies doing of course.
Over conference weekend we headed up to Logan to spend some time with some of our favorite people, the Jorgies! We love love love them!! Kathy Ng, that Mat and I served with in San Francisco, was here from Hong Kong, so we had to show her the "country".

The weather cooperated a little on Saturday, so the kids got to go on a little ride with Grandpa Keith.
Carter LOVED Kathy. When she was gone seeing other friends, he would ask me where my friend Kathy was. Sunday evening we had a few other missionaries over to see Kathy.Left to right: Mary (Pratt) Parker, Susa Lindsey, Kathy Ng, Leslie Brosius and meSlave labor you ask?
He is saying, "Mom, anytime you need to vacuum, I will do it" in a very enthusiastic voice. He thought it was the coolest thing ever. I will be reminding him of this in a few years.
Phineas the cat, stalking the boy. This was pretty funny. He jumped from the rock to the sidewalk to get Carter. We love this cat. He's more like a dog really. He comes with us on walks, it's the funniest thing. Me and my sweet girl Oaklie.
Chub chub chubbers.
Look at that belly! She's so stinkin' cute!
