The Jazz (dancers) and a 4 year old boy

Last night Mat and Carter went to the Jazz game. Carter was pretty excited about going to the basketball game with daddy. When they got home I was putting Carter to bed and doing out nightly ritual of asking him what is favorite part of the day was. He replied by saying that it was going to the Jazz game. I said, what was your favorite part of the jazz game? He said, "the girls in their pretty dresses and sparklies"!!! WHAT THE??? YOU ARE FOUR! I only thought that to myself. Then he said, "Mom, the girls were naked but they had on black under wears". What do you even say to that? I told him that it's not OK to look at naked girls and next time he should cover his eyes. Mat told me later that Carter would get mad when he couldn't see and especially when he couldn't see the girls. Lately he has been noticing "pretty things". The first was the substitute chorister in primary. He told me after church that she had really pretty eyes. The next Sunday Carter and Mat were watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Carter turned to Mat and said, "the girls are really pretty when they do the hot dog dance daddy." Mat seems to think it's no big deal and was laughing at me for freaking out about it last night. Seriously, he's 4, come on now. He should be noticing cool cars and yucky bugs, not pretty naked girls. Don't you think?

What do you think it is?

Lovely wall art. What it is though? We'd like to give it a name.

Georgia Peaches anyone?

We almost didn't make it. Friday morning we shot out of bed at 6:30am when we were supposed to be crawling out of bed at 4:30 and walking out of the door at 5:30 for our 7:15 flight! What are the chances that we slept through our alarm and so did Cameron that was coming to work early while the kids slept? Seriously. Well, we got to the airport 14 minutes before our flight took off, but they wouldn't let us board! We were so bummed until they told us that they could get us on a later flight but it would have to be in First Class because Coach was full. Well, don't twist my arm. I've never flown first class before, but it was swwweett!!
On Saturday we went into Atlanta to look around a little bit. We went to "Underground Atlanta", a mall there. We saw lots of ridiculously huge bling and other things that you don't see around here. There was a store called, "Gold Teeth in One Day". Heck yes we stopped there. The wedding and reception Saturday night was really nice. The wedding was in an old, really pretty, Methodist Church . Then we raced over to the reception in the middle of the nowhere, somewhere in Georgia. It was really really pretty, and you could tell, really really expensive! We had a great time! Mormons really don't throw near as fun of a party. Everyone danced, I mean everyone! I got a kick out of one couple, see the video below. It was great to see my family, most of which I hadn't seen since I was 17 and Mat got to meet that side of the fam too. I'm grateful to our family and friends that watched Carter and Berklie so that we could go on our whirlwind trip!
Ben and Sarah Meril, Hayley, Aunt Susan and Uncle Brian Grandma Meck and cousin Mike
My dad and Grandma dancing. I took this photo for you mom, so you could see that he really did dance!
The cutest couple there. :)Cousins Hayley, bride Sarah and MerilThe Meck and Podblieski clanThis was cracking me up all night!! Yes, they danced like this more than once. Who is this you ask? Well, that I'm not sure, but they sure are cute aren't they. Turn your monitor side ways and watch til the end. It's too funny.

A little Halloween Fun

We had a really fun Halloween! The day before we got to visit Grandma and Grandpa Oman. The kids had a great time showing off their costumes! The kids are still enjoying their Halloween treats, and I won't lie, so am I. Funny thing though, Mat won't eat their candy!!! He says that he feels bad eating it without them knowing. He's too nice. I on the other hand, think that I'm doing myself a favor by reducing the amount of sugar that they will be eating.
Berklie couldn't get enough of Grandpa. She was sharing all of her treats and sitting on his lap!
We carved some pumpkins as well. This is the first year that Carter actually got messy and stuck his hands in the pumpkin. He really got into it this and loved that he got to help carve it too!
Berklie on the other hand, didn't really want to get messy. I thought for sure she would, so we totally stripped her down. But, as you can see, she didn't really touch it. Carter and his classmates had a little party on Friday. They got to dress up, play fun games and eat yummy treats! At the end of the party they did a parade for the parents. They were too cute! This is Carter with Ms. Sarah, he adores her.

Halloween night we of course went Trick-or-Treating! I worried about Berklie and how she would do, but she loved it! Mat told her that the candy and the bucket were hers and after that she wouldn't let the bucket go and wanted to keep filling it up! She couldn't say "trick-or-treat", but she got really good at saying, "tank-you". The kids both had a great time and got tons of candy to show for it! My little Tinker Bell and my super hero, Super Man!
Where are my hands? So, the costume was a little big. Some friends of ours went trick-or-treating with us. This is Carters friend Ashlee. Aren't they cute? The loot!
I was a little worried the next morning that both of them would only want candy! But, I woke up to find this! Seriously now, what did Mat say to them to get them to eat apples?
